Home MenuPublic Safety
As the neighborhoods and the communities continue to recover, safety is a priority for the City.
In an effort to improve public safety and deter property crime in areas affected by Marshall Fire, the City is partnered with Flock Safety to implement its license plate detection program. License plate readers are being installed in key ingress/egress points in residential areas in which homes were destroyed. The cameras will stay up throughout debris removal and rebuilding.
The cameras are designed to recognize license plates and vehicle characteristics and alert police to wanted vehicles. The system will adhere to all state laws and cannot be used for facial recognition or identifiable information about a person’s physical characteristics.
The City is also asking residents to assist in keeping these areas secure by staying alert. If you see something that is suspicious or criminal, please notify the Louisville Police Department at 303.441.4444 for non-emergencies and 911 for all emergencies.
