  • What is the City doing about traffic safety? Traffic safety remains a priority for the City. Traffic safety (i.e. distracted driving, speeding, aggressive driving, etc.) is the most common complaint the City receives from neighborhoods and it is because unsafe driving has a direct impact on the quality of life for our residents. You can learn more by visiting the Traffic Safety webpage.
  • What is the status of the railroad quiet zone project? The City has been working on the installation of a railroad quiet zone that includes key crossings throughout the city (South Boulder Road, Griffith, South, Pine and Dillon Road) for the past couple of years. The purpose of the project is to reduce noise by creating a zone from Baseline to Dillon where trains will not blow horns as frequently. This requires the installation of safety improvements at each at-grade crossing. For more information, visit the Quiet Zone webpage.
  • I've been affected by excessive noise coming from airplane traffic. What should I do? If you have been affected by noise from the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport located in Broomfield, please call the noise complaint line at 303.271.4874 or complete an online complaint form at https://www.jeffco.us/1697/Noise-Complaint-Online-Form. When calling to file a complaint, it is helpful to have the following information: visual details (type of aircraft, tail number, multiple sightings), operations details (takeoff, landing or training) and date/time/location of each sighting. To learn more, visit the RMMA webpage.

  • My roof was damaged in a hail storm. What guidelines should my roofing contractor be following? The entire City of Louisville was hit with large hail in June 2018. Usually only small parts of cities or towns feel the impact of such storms. To learn more about the building and inspection guidelines your contractor should be following, click here.
  • Why can a utility company do work on my property? A utility company can perform work on your property only within a dedicated utility easement. Access over non-encumbered private property to the utility easement requires property owner approval. An easement is a permanent right authorizing a person or party (i.e. Xcel, Comcast, CenturyLink) to use the described portion of the property for a particular purpose. Utility easements are normally dedicated during the planning phase of development and are depicted on the plat. Easements can also be deeded at a later date by separate instrument. Residents can view plats with the location of easements on the City’s Land Use & Planning Online Map at www.LouisvilleCO.gov/About-Us/Online-Maps. Residents can also come into City Hall and request assistance with interpreting a plat in the Public Works Department.
