In Louisville, property owners are responsible for downed trees and branches on their private property and within the adjacent public right-of-way, per Ord. No. 1484-2006, § 1, 2-7-2006, Sec. 8.12.060. If needed, property owners should consult with an independent, licensed landscape contractor or arborist to remove trees or tree branches on private property. Do not relocate branches to parkways or other public areas.   For questions, please contact the City Forester: 303-335-4733.
