Founded in 2002, the Youth Advisory Board advises the Louisville City Council on issues affecting the youth within Louisville. The Board consists of Louisville residents in grades 6-12.

The Board meets the first Thursday of every month from 6-7:30 PM, during the school year, at the Louisville Library, 951 Spruce Street. 

Members of the public are welcome to attend and give comments remotely using the links below; however, the in-person meeting may continue even if technology issues prevent remote participation.

Youth who are interested in local government, community issues and volunteering are encouraged to apply for a seat on the Youth Advisory Board. Applicants must Louisville Residents in the 6th-12th grade and must be available the 1st Thursday night of each month as well as 2-4 hours additional per month. 

Mission Statement: The Louisville Youth Advisory Board serves as a link between the City Council and the youth of Louisville to identify issues pertaining to youth, communicate the concerns of youth, and suggest possible City Council action to be taken. The Board seeks a diverse group of applicants in order to best represent the youth of the community. Through monthly volunteer projects, the board encourages youth involvement.

Requirements: Advisory Board Members must be Louisville residents who will be in the 6th-12th grade during the current school year. Applications are due at the end of the summer and interviews are held in September. Currently term is two school years.

How do I contact the Youth Advisory Board? If you’re interested in contacting the Board to ask a question or provide public comment regarding an issue, please send an email to the recreation staff liaison or call 303.335.4902 or send an email to the library staff liaison or call 303.335.4844. Board members also receive mail at City Hall, 749 Main Street. Please be sure to include Youth Advisory Board on the envelope. The staff liaison will include any questions or comments in the public meeting packet. Please note that any information submitted to the Board is available for public review under the Colorado Open Records Act.

Meeting materials: The City keeps agendas, meeting packets, and minutes for the Commission. Items for the current calendar year are kept on this site and previous year's are kept in the City's Digital Records Repository. Current meeting agendas and packets are posted to this no later than site the Friday prior to the meeting.
