The Planning Commission evaluates land use proposals and makes recommendations to the City Council. The Commission conducts public hearings to evaluate each proposal against municipal ordinances and the desires of the neighborhood. The Commission may choose to delay the decision, have another public hearing, or vote at the conclusion of the present meeting. After the public hearing, the Commission recommends, through a Resolution, that the City accept or reject the proposal.
The Commission consists of seven members who are appointed by the City Council and serve staggered terms (two 2-year, two 4-year, three 6-year terms).
Regular meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM in City Hall. Agendas for each meeting are posted in the foyer of City Hall, at the Library, at the Police Department/ Municipal Court Building, at the Recreation Center, and on this site prior to each meeting.
