The Local Licensing Authority reviews new and renewal applications for liquor licenses as well as medical and retail marijuana licenses, conducts public hearings on new licenses, reviews alleged violations of state and local regulations, and, if necessary, conducts show cause hearings.
The Authority consists of five members and one associate. All members are appointed by the City Council to serve four-year terms. Licensing Authority Rules of Procedure.
Regular meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month at City Hall. Agendas for each meeting are posted in the foyer of City Hall, at the Library, at the Police Department/Municipal Court Building, at the Recreation Center, and on this site.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and give comments remotely using the links below; however, the in-person meeting may continue even if technology issues prevent remote participation.

How do I contact the Local Licensing Authority? If you’re interested in contacting the Authority to ask a question or provide public comment regarding an issue, please send an email to the staff liaison or call 303.335.4574. Authority members also receive mail at City Hall, 749 Main Street. Please be sure to include Local Licensing Authority on the envelope. The staff liaison will include any questions or comments in the public meeting packet. Please note that any information submitted to the Authority is available for public review under the Colorado Open Records Act.
