Louisville Business Forum

The City of Louisville's Economic Vitality Strategic Plan includes a goal to "Improve our business climate through collaborative relationships and effective processes". As part of this goal, the City of Louisville hosts a bi-annual Business Forum to gather all stakeholders, review City priorities, and gather feedback.

April 27, 2023 Business Forum

Thank you to everyone who attended the April 27, 2023 Louisville Business Forum! Twenty-six members of the Louisville business community gathered with City staff and City Council members gathered to discuss the business climate in Louisville. The event also featured a presentation from Brian Lewandowski, Executive Director of the Business Research Division at the CU Leeds School of Business on Colorado economic outlook. Brian's presentation is available here.

Following Mr. Lewandowski's presentation, City Councilmembers Chris Leh, Deb Fahey, and Maxine Most, Community Development Director Rob Zuccaro, Economic Vitality Manager April Kroner, and Economic Vitality Specialist Austin Brown participated in a Question and Answer session with the attendees. Topics of conversation included:

  • Challenges of doing business in Louisville;
  • Marshall Fire impacts to local businesses;
  • How can the City help small businesses?;
  • Commercial energy code, gas station, and dark sky lighting ordinances;
  • Council's role in changing regulations; and
  • Future Comprehensive Plan changes.

Thank you to everyone who spoke at the Forum. Staff will work with the Economic Vitality Committee to address all of the issues that were raised by the attendees.
