Museum Courtyard Now Open!

Post Date:10/30/2021

The pop-up park on the Museum campus, where the community can sit, enjoy, and play, is now complete! We look forward to seeing you in the Museum Courtyard soon. This project was made possible by the Louisville History Foundation.

The Museum Courtyard features two chairs painted by talented local artists, Blake Welch and Paul O’Connell. These chairs were painted as part of the Louisville Cultural Council’s 2020 Adirondack chair project. Thanks to the Cultural Council for donating them to the Museum.

Find information about free Museum tours and programs, on the Museum's website.

Welcome Back Students!

The Museum recently welcomed several school groups for tours and programs in-person on the Museum’s campus! Three classes of 2nd graders from Louisville Elementary School and two classes from the Patchwork School spent time on the Museum’s campus in November learning about Louisville, coal mining, and Indigenous history. This is a wonderful shift from conducting school tours digitally as the Museum had been doing during most of 2020 and 2021.

If your school or community group is interested in a Museum tour or program, please visit the Teacher Resources Webpage and/or the Special Tour Request Form.
