The last few years in Louisville’s history have certainly been tumultuous, but dealing with difficult times is nothing new in Louisville. In the 1920s and 1930s, Louisville residents dealt with the turmoil of Prohibition, terror of the KKK, uncertainty of a violent labor strike, and a rise in anti-Hispanic racism. Check out the ways these events marked Louisville in the Museum’s new exhibit Tumultuous Times. This exhibit will be in the Museum's front window through October!

 This exhibit is part of the City of Louisville ‘Who We Are’ program series, which aims to explore questions regarding the past, present and future of Louisville and how community members engage with one another on identity, history, belonging and culture. We invite everyone to join in on the conversation and celebration.

We hope to build stronger connections between community members, learn and grow as a community, create a greater awareness of City history and understand who we are, where we come from and who we want to become.
