We take it for granted that we can see the stars at night, but did you know that true darkness is an endangered resource? Parks and Open Space areas play a vital role in preserving pools of darkness in our urban landscape. Join the Open Space Stargazers for a nighttime hike of North Open Space and an easy science project. Stay for some casual stargazing, with great views expected for Saturn and some of our favorite summer constellations. Bring binoculars or a telescope, and a red astronomy flashlight.
