The City will be hosting the annual Household Hazardous and E-Waste Drop Off Event on May 14, 2022, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. This event is only for Louisville residents and by appointment only. Sign up for an appointment here.
New in 2022, the City is partnering with the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) for its Mow Down Pollution Program. The Mow Down Pollution Program aims to reduce ground-level ozone pollution and improve air quality by electrifying lawn and garden equipment. The City of Louisville is providing vouchers to people who choose to recycle and replace their gas-powered lawn mowers ($150 voucher) and leaf blowers ($50 voucher) with rechargeable or corded electric equipment.
Vouchers are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Residents can sign up for a voucher here. To receive a voucher, you must drop off your gas mower or leaf blower at the hazardous/e-waste disposal event or provide proof of recycling at another facility. While there are a limited number of mower/leaf blower vouchers, any Louisville, Lafayette or Superior resident can drop off their gas mower during the hazardous/e-waste disposal event. Volunteers will drain your mower on-site.
