The Build a Better Book project, based at the University of Colorado Boulder, works with school and library Makerspaces to engage participants in the design and fabrication of accessible picture books and games. These can be low-tech or high-tech, using craft supplies, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and more. These products are designed for learners with visual impairments but can include other physical and learning disabilities.
We will be constructing an ABC book meant for a preschool or elementary school serving children with visual impairments. Each participant will construct at least one page. When all the pages come together, it will create a fun and colorful book ready to assist a child in learning their alphabet!
Register to pick up a kit with more information, instructions, and supplies.
Please have your page ready and back to the library by Monday, Nov 9th.
