Deadline for Grass to Garden applications (and a free Garden In A Box).
For the second year in a row, the City is partnering with Resource Central to offer water customers the opportunity to swap 200 sq ft of maintained grass for a low-water, pollinator-friendly ‘softscape’ garden. Through the popular Grass to Garden program, water customers can receive a free Garden In A Box, a free Rain Bird Retrofit Kit to convert spray irrigation to drip irrigation (if needed), and a library of ‘how to’ guides and resources.
This program, which is open to the Louisville water customers free of charge, aims to help people save both money and water. Spaces are limited and the early bird deadline is March 13. The program will re-open after that date if spaces are still available.
The Grass to Garden program is open to water customers with 200 sq ft of maintained grass, which regularly receives water from a sprinkler system, hose, or by hand. A sprinkler system is not a requirement for participation, but a free Rain Bird Retrofit Kit to convert spray irrigation to drip irrigation is available through the program.
To apply to the Grass to Garden program, visit the Resource Central’s Louisville website and watch the webinar for a detailed explanation of requirements and next steps.
If you have any questions on the Grass to Garden program, contact Resource Central by email or phone 303-999-3820 x221.
