There could be a few reasons on why someone may not have received the Louisville test notification on October 23 at 10:30 a.m.

• You do not have a registered account for the opt-in BOCOAlert notification system.
• Your account is not up to date with a Louisville location and/or current accurate contact information.

The purpose of the BOCOAlert Test & Registration Campaign is to increase the number of emergency alert signups for Louisville residents. Signing up for emergency notifications is a crucial step in staying informed and prepared for any disaster. By registering for alerts, you receive real-time updates on severe weather, evacuations, and other critical information that could impact your safety. 

The October 23 test will also raise awareness about how to use the system and how the system will be used in an emergency.

Louisville is working with Boulder County to increase the number of registrations for BOCOAlert and Reachwell Translation App for the October 23rd test. 

You might be wondering "will this test include sirens, National Wireless Emergency Alerts, etc". The October 23 test will only be testing BOCOAlert and Reachwell Translation App. Learn more about these platforms below!

If you have registered and signed up for BOCOAlerts and/or ReachWell Translation App, on the testing day you will receive a notification via the platforms you have opted-in for (text message, email, phone call, push notification).

Yes! The City is working with Boulder County Sheriffs Office to track the number of registrations for BOCOAlert and ReachWell before, and after the test.

We encourage anyone who signs up for emergency alerts through BOCO Alert to create a "BOCO Alert" contact in their mobile device with a phone number of 303-441-1400. 

All emergency alerts will be delivered from this number to allow you the ability to set preferences for this particular contact. 

YES! We now push all BOCO Alerts to the ReachWell app for translation needs. 

The ReachWell translation app is available to download and receive emergency alerts in over 100 languages/dialects. Alerts are automatically sent to the app, where users can access the content in their preferred language. Alerts are received by opting into a unique ReachWell group (BOCO Alert) and do not require sharing your location. This application will deliver every notification sent from the Boulder County Communications, Boulder Police and Fire Communications, and Longmont Emergency Communications.

If you have a landline from Century Link/Lumen or VOIP phone from Xfinity/Comcast, your number is automatically updated in the system.

We suggest that you also create an opt-in profile that contains your mobile device information. When creating your account, consider entering the addresses for your home, work, child’s school, loved ones, etc. You can choose to receive voice calls, text messages, TTY/TDD, emails or faxes. We encourage you to create a profile for every person in the household that has a mobile device. If an address listed on your profile is within the geographical boundary created by public safety officials for an incident, you will receive information through your chosen contact paths.  

 If an incident is occurring around the location you registered for, yes you will still receive alerts even if you are out of the incident boundary. 

 Advisory: Informational message about an emergency situation that is likely to impact one of the addresses listed on your profile.

Warning: Prepare or take action for you and your family due to an emergency situation affecting one of the addresses listed on your profile. Individuals needing extra time to mobilize, should take immediate action when a Warning notification is issued.

Order: Take required action immediately due to an imminent life threat.

 ReachWell is an application tool you can download to stay up to date on emergency alerts and includes translation in over 100 languages.  

Text BOCOInfo to 888777 

To receive text alerts on active incidents in Boulder County, community members can text BOCOinfo to the number 888777. The request only needs to be made once. The service is free, except for any data usage charges that might apply. These texts come directly from BoCo Office of Disaster Management
