The City of Louisville is thrilled to be welcoming Kelly Hunt and her band onto the Steinbaugh stage.
Kelly Hunt's music and performance style is interwoven with stories and mysteries from America's rich history. Her calfskin tenor banjo is a mystery in itself - when she found it, the instrument was accompanied with a note that said "This banjo was played by a man named Ira Tamm in his dog and pony show from 1920 to 1935." But what Ira Tamm's story was, we'll never know. Hunt's improvised style of playing combines old-time picking styles with the percussive origins of the banjo. Her music holds an ineffable quality that hovers beyond the constraints of genre and her intriguing arrangements will leave you spellbound.
This concert is free and open to the public. We hope you will join us for this enchanting musical experience! Learn more here.
