The Great ArtDoors with Kid Connects in the Neighborhood

all ages welcome; craft geared to ages 3-6 & caregivers

  • Date: 09/22/2023 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Join Kid Connects in the Neighborhood and Mental Health Partners for this art-focused program. Through this support group, kids will develop and gather resources for coping with stress, express themselves through art and the natural environment, and work together to help create an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and fun for the group.

Art allows us to process and express our emotions in safe and constructive settings. By creating physical representations of our feelings, we can better understand why we feel the way we do, and when words can't communicate our feelings, we can continue to express ourselves through art. This supports children’s social emotional development and growth which better prepares them for school. Using art and nature will promote supportive connection, find healing and relief, and of course create fun!

This group will be for all ages, and parents are more than welcome to attend, although craft will be tailored for children 3-6. Meet in the small park/courtyard across from the Library (near 740 Front). In the case of inclement weather, the group will meet in the Library's second floor boardroom.

Drop in. No registration required.
