Donate a Historical Item
If you would like to offer an item to the Louisville Historical Museum, please first contact the Museum staff to find out whether it will be possible for the Museum to accept the item. All items received by the Museum become property of the City of Louisville. As the steward of valuable collections, the Museum and the City of Louisville maintain and interpret the Museum collections and fulfill the Museum’s mission.
Make a Monetary Donation
Thank you for considering a monetary donation to support the Louisville Historical Museum and the preservation of Louisville History!
Order a Historic Photo
The museum has an extensive catalog of historic photos, and reproductions are available.
Schedule a Museum Tour
The Museum is open four days each week, from 10am-3pm. During the summer, the Museum hosts a First Friday Art Walk Event from 6:00-8:00. The Museum Coordinator may also schedule appointments and tours outside of the normal open hours.
Search The Louisville Times
Over the course of several months in 2017, hard copy issues of The Louisville Times, from 1942 to 2007, were painstakingly digitized. With funding approved by Louisville’s City Council in the 2017 budget, the Library worked with the CHNC to coordinate the complex project. CHNC now handles ongoing maintenance and availability.
Volunteer
The Louisville Historical Museum uses the services of volunteers to supplement the efforts of paid Museum staff in meeting demands for quality public service and to serve as a method for encouraging citizens to become familiar with the Museum.
